When it’s tropical temperatures outside like this summer, I always long for something cold and refreshing, so almost every morning I blended myself a smoothie. It’s the same as for the pancakes (see previous post), where you can use almost any ingredients you like.
I put some strawberries, red and black currants, and a banana, as the base. Then soy milk for protein and thickness, chia seeds for fibre and Omega-3, collagen for joint and skin health, and protein powder for more protein. Then you can see if you want it thicker, like ice cream. Or more liquidly, then pour in some water.
I can recommend Bulk’s protein powder and Vital’s collagen powder.
For toppings, I had some cinnamon and walnuts. Just use what you have. Nuts, seeds, nut butter, cereals, muesli… the options are endless.
I usually get a large portion from this, which I love.
Sitting outside and refilling the bowl one or two times makes breakfast time so filling and something I really look forward to.
What’s your best smoothie recipe? Or what do you prefer eating during warm summer days?
