Saffron cookies – a perfect mix of a classic and Christmas flavours

I really love the original slices, which taste like caramel. But if you want to get into the Christmas spirit, you should try these. Saffron is common in other countries all year round. Here in Sweden, we put a little bit more focus on it during December. It’s the perfect mix of a classic cookie and Christmas flavours.

I love making small cookies and putting them in a jar for you to have when you crave something sweet. Although I must say that in recent years, I try not to have cookies available all year round, and just when celebrating something or during holidays.

“They’re also very easy to make, and a perfect gift if you’re visiting someone”

Usually I go for oat cookies, “dreams” (vanilla cookies), or shortbread cookies with jam in the middle. But another favorite is these saffron slices. When it’s not Christmas, there’s caramel in them. Ica.se has a good recipe of the original ones, both of which are really tasty. However, saffron is something I use as much as I can during Christmas.

They’re also very easy to make, and a perfect gift if you’re visiting someone. They can also be an alternative if you want something with saffron on the table, but don’t have that much time.

I must warn you though, it’s hard to only take one. 😉
